Camping Women came into being in 1977 as a nonprofit, educational and service organization for women 18 and over. The two founders, who had many years of experience in Girl Scout camping, knew how Scouting had helped girls and adults learn about and enjoy the out-of-doors, and wished for a similar organization for adult women. |
